First Drive! ... waited since forever for this moment ...
Bought my first Porsche this winter. Waited decades for this car. First drive was a recent sunny Spring day. Had just changed the oil - Brad Penn (thanks forum posters) - and after adjusting the level and verifying that all gauges read as expected... I let her out.. for the first time. Wow! Feels like a race car. Sounds like one too! And its just stock!
I'm sure you guys know the joy. Next time I take her out will have a camera to get a shot with the sun coming off the paint. Just love it.

Congratulations, man. I have the same reaction with
My 81 sc targa. The only thing not stock are the sway bars, which are the larger ones from the mid 80s carrera. It is so beyond amazing. And sure, the sc isn't a rocket, but it's still pretty darn quick, has a great powerband, and is just so much fun to drive. Michael |

It's no wonder that these "first drive" posts gets so many replies. When someone comes on here describing their first drive it helps the rest of us remember our first and there is nothing like the first drive.

Congrats man! Like you, I had to wait to get my car. It was snowed in in Connecticut while I was Preparing my garage in Massachusetts. On the first drive I remember thinking, "Wow!, this is mine!".

Enjoy the driving season - from here through November, you're pretty much good to go.
Where in Maryland are you? I'm in Silver Spring.

Hey, I like that.
"Porsche fever. It's like crack ...... only more expensive ....... and more habit forming ..... and ruins more marriages ...... and takes up more space in the garage ....." Additions anyone? The Porsche is the "funnest" car around. Even now that the "newness" has worn off, it still sees more road time that the Ferrari, the Viper, the Vette and any of the motorcycles combined. I often compare it to driving a Miata. It's not the quickest, fastest, or most sweet sounding car in the garage, but it's ..... I don't know ..... fun, I guess. (OK, you can all send lightning bolts my way now for comparing a 911 to a Miata But you'd have to drive one to see what I mean)

I'm really happy this Tech forum exists. Have already learned a great deal and its the first place I look for info that isn't in the manuals.
Knew others would relate to a first drive. Thanks for your comments. Helios59, I am in Rockville but moving closer to the car which is stored near Frederick. would add: ... and keeps you up late ... and lands you in court ...

More pics of my car. Color really changes with different light conditions (its Schwarz metallic). The car was repainted in its original color so its not factory paint. And I think its water based but am not sure. Sorry these were so long in coming, I was packing and moving the last few weeks.

Thanks for the update. Really nice shots. I had a schwartzmettalic car, and it looked a lot like that.
BTW, SCs are usually much cheaper than crack. Enjoy ! |

Beautiful car, nice and stock. Too nice to take on the track, I would have a 3M clear bra installed right now while the paint is perfect! Front end, mirrors, leading edge of rear quarter panels..
