911 flag mirror update
 

My 86 Carrera Needed new mirror glass. Bought really nice complete mirrors in same Grand Prix White some while back . My glass is the early three prong type and the replacement is later ratchet type. So in an attempt to change the whole mirror and the male and female plug are the same, I removed the pins in the male plug and had no luck finding any combination to make it work in more than one plane. Wiring diagrams that I have are no help . When working with the left mirror I can hear a contact in the right side and this makes me think they are not compatible. Part number on replacements, stamped in vinyl is 944 731 041 00. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like you have a 944 mirror, similar but not right, if your ok with the fit look on the 944 wiring and cross it with the 911 and splice up
