how many 67s were made

Does anyone know how many 67, 911s were made? References to your information source would be helpful too.

Thanks

According to PCA's "The Porsche Family Tree",...

7350 911 & 911S Coupe's
718 Karmann Coupe's

718 Targa's

AFAIK, Its been an accurate resource for many years on US cars.

Hi Steve what I meant was how many 911S were made in 67, referring to the 160hp din model with the fuchs alloys.

Thank you

You can get some info here, but these tables have a few problems... so go by serial no. and not the year heading....

VIN No Body Model Engine No Engine CC HP / RPM Production
305101 - 307350 Coupe 911 901/05 1991 130 @ 6100 2250
307351 - 308522 Coupe 911 901/6 1991 130 @ 6100 1172
500001 - 500718 Targa 911 901/6 1991 130 @ 6100 718
305101S - 308523S Coupe 911S 901/02 1991 160 @ 6600 523
500001S - 500718S Targa 911S 901/02 1991 160 @ 6600 718

I think this chart has errors, for example shows 718 911 targas and 718 911s targas. Seems to me in 67 Porsche did not give the 67S a special number just an S on the end, seems they were built right in the midst of the regular 67. I think that is why no one seems to know how many S were made. This chart shows 523 Coupe S which sounds right but they got the targas so obviously wrong that I dont trust that number.

Hi,

When you are reviewing the data, just remember the old Chinese Proverb:

Man with one watch always knows what time it is;
Man with two not sure.

Erik,

Not really. More of a warning. There are multiple sources of this data and, if I am not mistaken, they do not agree.

Please re-read post #3. Collaboration between Allen and Jim Schrager. The have an anonymous source who has all the kardexes. I know who it is, and you've probably heard the name. I have copies of the factory kardexes for all my cars courtesy of this guy..... I trust these numbers more than anything else out there.

Eric

I used to own 305360S, engine number 960073, can't remember the gearbox (matching numbers)
Drove it every day, all year.
Took it to CLM06 & got 140mph (indicated) on the way home.
God, how I miss that car.

two out of 67 in my list show as HW, but both were eBay cars so unknown if they are original HW. It was an option I believe.

Sorry

But I don't have any detailed information of what's ON the Kardex. I've thought that it would be FANTASTIC if someone with access to Kardex would put all the information in a database and we could then sort till our hearts content. We'd know how many SWBs had softwindows (almost all of them) and how many sunroofs (from anecdotal evidence <10%).

I'm sure that someday the Kardex info will leak out since Porsche has it on computer(s)..You've seen them at some Porsche shows. When it does, we'll all be a lot smarter.

All '67 models were soft window, the soft window was still standard in '68 with the hard window optional, and the hard window was standard from '69-71 with the soft window optional. From what I've seen, most '68s optioned the hard window, which is probably why Porsche made it standard in '69. There were *very* few soft Targas made in '69-71, but they do exist and there are pics of each year on Pelican if you search.
