additional gauges

I have a 1990 C4. I was wondering what additional functional gauges would be useful to include in the car along with the current setup.

I have a digital voltmeter in the car that tells me the state of the charging system at all times.

My alternator went bad and started overcharging, so I put this in to troubleshoot. I liked it so much that I kept it in and now could not do without it! Mine is mounted on the bottom of the tach gauge and directly in the line of sight.

It all depends on how much wiring you want to do! Vacuum, CHT, and voltage mini-gauges might be kinda handy. Where are you planning on putting them?

I still do not understand why Porsche did not put volt meters in these cars as a matter of course. I'd like one and probably will install one at some point.

I would also like to have a head temp gauge. Still other gauges would be nice, like oil temp at various places in the oil system and a vacuum gauge.

Any comments, Warren?

Placement of gauges

I am thinking of placing the gauge(s) on the A-pillar, with proper brackets, along with perhaps an Autometer shiftlight. I was thinking of installing a volt meter as well. Where does the wires have to hook up to? What are the telltale signs of overcharging?
