What material are you trying to restore? Vinyl, leather, clear plastic, black plastic?

well, it's this part: 901-424-014-00
There is a transparent plastic over the symbol. Can it be removed?
Tks

I seem to recall someone saying their son reconditioned those and he had some pics. You might want to try a search. If all you need is to clarify the clear part on top, try some plastic polish like the kind used for convertible windows or to restore headlamps. I used the stuff for windows on the plastic headlamp lenses on my F150 and it worked pretty good.

Thank you. I'll search for that post

It is ISpeed2day who's son provides this service.

Erik's Shift Knob restoration service

I had him restore 2 of my 915 knobs...they turned out nice.

Yes, I just found that topic some minutes ago.
The problem is that my knob is completed faded. I cant see anything behind the "cristal plate". Is this doable?

In other hand the new knob costs me €87.63 ....

Thanks anyway, maybe i'll keep my knob just as it is

cheers

If yours is totally dead then why not try the plastic restorer polish? What have you got to lose?

I would recommend pm'ing ISpeed2day and ask him if they can restore it to the level you are seeking. My shift knobs both had cracks in the clear acrylic "plate" and they both came back nice.
