High idle after replacing accelerator rod bushings

After replacing the bushings at the motor (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/540766-accelerator-rod-bushing-how-do-i-get-them.html) I fired it up, and the motor immediately set into a steady idle at about 2000 rpm. I assume this is the result of the suddenly tight throttle and that the PO had adjusted the throttle linkage so the thing would idle at 900 without bushings.

I've read through threads on throttle linkage, and I gather I should first have a look at the throttle stop. However, I can't seem to locate it. The Bentley shows something unlike my 83. How do I properly inspect and adjust the linkage?

Looks like the rod coming off of the intake, behind/below the cruise control garbage is a bit short. I disconnected it, and the idle dropped to where it should be. I assume I should just add a little length (like maybe one full turn at most) and try it out. Is this proper procedure, or should I start at the gas pedal and work my way back? Thanks.

That will work fine.

Thanks, Superman. That did the trick.
