My 69 starting running like a toilet this weekend when the temperature outside got to about 90 degrees. It wouldnt hold an idle, and it felt like it was running on 5 cylinders. I revved the car to 6000 rpm and then it ran fine for about 3 hours, then it went back to the same thing. I took it for a ride this morning (in cooler weather)and everything seems fine. It has the triple throat webbers, could this be a problem with the floats?

Webers don't compensate well fer temp changes. You may have your idle settings a bit rich and when the air gets thinner the car runs poorly. Try and tune the idle mixtures to the lean side and see if the helps. Are your plugs/wires/point/etc. new? It all adds up when the heat is on. Good luck, Alex
