Please read this quote regarding the 3.2

Great article on the 3.2 in Total 911 last month. My favorite quote is by Fred under the "What you say" blurb about girls and mingers. I think it's so true regarding this car. Take her anywhere and all of a sudden other cars start to look like mingers.

I suspect that most of the "unique dynamics" is not due to the torsion bar suspension, but instead to geometry dynamics AND more narrow tires.

The light steering feel has to be due to the more narrow tires of a 'true' 911 vs. a 964 -- neglecting power steering if that was on 964s (?)

Of course, to some the 3.2L cars are heavy, dead, dull luxo-barge versions of the 911 that left behind much of the heritage of the real 911.

To others, the LWB cars lack that fun "spin-me" feel of the SWB cars...

And, there is the hatred the 356 people felt towards the big new non-sports car luxo-GT car, the 901...

OK, what's a minger?

Minger: Although now more commonly used to define an extremely visually challanging appearance, the word minger originally came from Scottish Gaelic, meaning 'septic vagina'.

Now often used by chavs all over Britain to define anything remotely disgusting (e.g. - Eurgh look Shaz, thats right minging, innit?)

Ah, now Fred's quote makes PERFECT sense!!

Hah - nice.

When I had my 964 that was broken down all of the time, I used to tell people that "She's like a beautiful woman that treats you like crap. I love her. I hate her.".

My 3.2 is way better....

And the SWB cars lacked the fun "spin-me" feel of a stock 356. With only 90 hp or thereabouts, the temptation to overcook a corner was a lot greater than with a 911. When you came out of a corner too slow in a 356 you felt it for a loooonnng time. Spirited driving in my 56 coupe is limited to cruising around looking cool. The Speedster is a great autocross car with the Z-bar hooked up. It was a decent track car back in the day, with the front lowered and the rear decambered.
