Hella Vision Plus Halogen replacements
Has anybody else tried these headlights?
Hella Vision Plus I installed a pair, and am very pleased with their improvement over the standard sealed beam units that I was using, but I wonder how they would compare with Hella H4's. They came with a 60/55W HB2 bulb instead of an H4, but some people have claimed that you can use H4 bulbs in them, and upgrade to higher wattages. Anybody else find an improvement with these lights?

I have Hella DOT lights. They are DOT legal and they have three little nipples of glass on their face (that's how you can recognize them). I have installed relays and am using 55w/100w bulbs (H4). You should definitely install the relay kit. Definitely. If you want to save and protect your stalk switch.
An experienced headlight distributor told me the non-DOT-legal Hellas would be a great improvement. I have them in a box. They also take the H4 bulb and are an inexpensive upgrade. I am hoping to find a sheet of that 3M stuff that can protect them (I drive my car daily and the lights take a beating). I am sure they will be an improvement over the DOT legal ones, which are very nice themselves with the 100w highs. There is also a Bosch replacement (also relatively inexpensive). Some folks say the Bosch are better. I'd like to hear more about that.

I think we have the same lights. Do yours have an extremely flat face, compared to the sealed beams?
I was planning on going to higher wattage bulbs with relays, but I realized that I am seldom able to use my high beams, so it may not be worth it. Still it's good to know that I can go to a higher wattage H4 bulb if I need to.
