Cooling Question

Hello Everyone.

I have a 1980 911SC that will do doulbe duty between it's current Ducktail, and an early Turbo Carrera whaletail. I like the looks of the early Turbo Carrera tail. The early tail is metal & fiberglass & does have the second smaller grille and factory cooling fan shroud. The car does have A/C; however, I may remove it & the rear condensor. The car is highway driven fairly aggresively in the summer dry climes of Idaho & is not experiencing any cooling issues with the Ducktail.

Question: Should I use the fan shroud ducting to the cooling fan from the small grille only; or not? I'm assuming that if the small grille opening worked for a Turbo's cooling needs, it should easily handle my normally aspirated CIS 3.0. If not, I'll probably sell the factory Turbo tail as I also have an early Carrera3.0 tail without the second grille opening.

Thank you;

Richard
