Who's best at repairing Fuchs?

A friend of mine took a deep six in to a local wheel repair shop to get a bend in the lip straightened, and supposedly it cracked while they were working on it. Now they say it was beyond repair.
Who is the best shop for welding up cracks in fuchs? Al? Harvey? It would be nice to save the wheel if at all possible.

I would also be interested in getting an opinion regarding the authenticity of the wheel - the wheels were sold as fakes, but they are extremely convincing.... while faint, the part number stampings and other markings appear to be correct from what I can tell. I assume either Al or Harvey should be able to easily recognize them as real or fake, right? I've tried taking photos of the wheels to post here for input, but the markings don't show up very well.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that has had a Fuchs wheel repaired. I am certainly not interested in getting into another debate regarding the safety of repaired wheels. The wheels are for a street driven 914 2.0.... not the most demanding car in the world.

Thanks,

I have had great experiences with Harvey. Both wheels and as a porsche resource.

Harvey did a repair and refurbish on mine last year. Very pleased with results.

Weidman's Wheels 530-534-7903

I've had many dealings with Harvey, he'd be the guy to show / ask.

Most recently, he restored my set of Deep - 6's & made the rears "Deep - 7's"

Thank you all for the feedback. I'll pass Harvey's name and number on to my friend.
