I am in the process of rebuilding an older '65 911 2.0 spare motor that will go into a '67 911S chassis, and was wondering if it was a viable option to sleeve or rebore the existing cylinders? This would seem to have the potential of saving a couple of thousand dollars since most piston/cylinder replacement kits go for $2,500 plus for these engines, if you can find them.
Can someone recommend a source if this is an option. Thanks, Don in Redondo Beach, Ca. |

Call or Email Engine Builders Supply, out of Reno, NV.
They will give you all of the options available to you. I don't know allot about the cylinders out of that early of a car. EBSRACING@AOL.COM best of luck, ------------------ Leland Pate ___'99 Dodge Dakota <-which pulls the "real" car ___'79 SC Targa Which hopefully will be back together soon... |

Don,
Yes, the Biral cylinders can be rebored up to 1.0 mm larger, and oversize pistons used to be available. You may want to visit the JE Pistons website, or talk to them in person in Huntington Beach about their 9.5:1 forged pistons with valve relief cuts option. www.jepistons.com ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |
