Beru Ignition wire leads DIY Kit now available through Pelican Parts!

After the last 964/993 group purchase of my DIY wire kits, I took Wayne's advice & contacted Pelican to sell my DIY wire sets.

The have not yet decided to sell/stock the 911 wire sets, but should...258 people viewing as I type this: incredible.

Long story short, I sell a DIY kit where you unscrew/reuse your 14 wire ends (disty wire included) and screw them onto the new wires. My templates are exact and Beru now carries a red wire as well as the black.

I also can get a guards red (colored) wire and a nice royal blue wire as well, though neither are Beru.

If you're interested in these sets at ~$90/set through Pelican Parts, let me know via this thread.

edit: Scott at Pelican
The link to Mark's ignition wire kits is here.

Thanks!

Mark

There are two types of Beru connector ends. The type posted by Mark are the later versions and have the machine screw end on the wire and the female thread on the connector itself. Earlier types have a wood screw type thread on the connector that screws directly into the bare end of the wire. Take off one of your spark plug connectors, and the the type you have will be obvious.

Please, clarify. Unscrew and remove the old crimped wire-ends. How would the un-crimping work so they can be inserted into the new wire-ends? Are you selling the special crimping tool? And new wires cut to length?

I also can get a guards red (colored) wire and a nice royal blue wire as well, though neither are Beru.

What exactly is being sold?
New wires cut to length for SC's, Carreras, 964, 993?
Special crimping pliers to un-crimp and then re-crimp the old brass ends onto new wires?
Or just simply use new brass ends?

Please, clarify.

The noise-suppression in Beru ignition wires comes from the detachable connectors, not the wires.
Long plug connector: 3k Ohms, (That's the one that unscrews)
Short cap connector: 1k Ohms, (At cap and also coil)

Mark I have at least one set of Beru wires with the screw ends. But like others want clarification of what you are selling. Here is what I " think " you are selling.

1. Qty 6 spark plug wires cut to length. These have the screw thread ends on one end and conventional ends/boots on the distributor end. So the customer has to remove his spark plug ends and screw them onto your new wires and be done.
2. Qty 1 coil wire. I think this has screw threads on both ends ?

Am I close ? To really clear this up a photo showing all that is in the " kit " would be great. I am interested in one set once this gets cleared up. Thanks

Gunter: correct-a-mundo.

rfuerst911sc: Both ends unscrew from the wires: both the disty and the spark plug connector, from all 7 wires. You need to use a toothpick or probe & some Armor-all to break the seal on the tight boots so that they unscrew/re-screw in easily.

I have '84-89 3.2 911's, both euro & US, all 2v & 4v 944's, 85-95 928's, '91-94 965's, and the 964/993's which are already carried by Pelican Parts.

The purpose of this thread is to show Wayne the interest in this series of wires so they can pick them up too & always have them on had at their low-low prices.

That doesn't work for the '78-'83 911 SC's & Turbos.
Only one end has the 3mm brass ends and the short one on the coil has a different style; a corkscrew spike.

I think that some people may want to decide on their own length for each individual wire.

Why nothing for the SC's?

Correct: SC's are built differently. There's a new style of push-lock connector but I feel it's too easy for someone to pull too hard and break the conductivity connection, so I don't offer them.

I can make custom-length wires for those who are using electromotive & such, or just want differing length of wires. Not sure how Wayne would handle such a sale if asked, but I'm sure it's come up before.

Crap I thought I was onto something but my wires are from SC's. I only tried unscrewing the spark plug end but it looks like from this post that the distributor end are NOT this screw style ? It really shouldn't be this friggen difficult .

Sorry about bearing the bad news. The earlier 928's dont lend to an easy wire replacement either.
