'81 sc no spark
Bosh 6 pin CDI unit hums,
Tried 2 ignition coils, earths and wires seem ok, points and rotor arms ok, starting to give up now:mad: PLEASE HELP ME! |
I had a very similar problem in my 82.
Take a look at this thread http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/334432-green-wire.html. If the green wire to the distributor is broken you won't get any spark in short. Also search on green wire lots of information. My particular problem was not the green wire (though I did replace it)... in side the distributor there is a coil, mine was broken, the car would start, run for a few minutes then die as it warmed up (I know not your problem). But try the green wire, should be easy to check the ohms. Don't give up, took me 4 months to trace down and fix :) Jay |
You're an awesome person! we cut the green wire when we took the engine out, turns out when we connected it back up, we didnt expose the "inner wire" !!!
all done now, thanks alot *virtual beer* |
great, glad I could help.
