Tails and Rubber Compatibility?

Does anyone know for certain if the rubber from a Carrera tail can be properly installed on a Turbo tail? In other words, are the mounts on both tails identical?

Thanks!

Nope, the holes are a bit to the side if you wish to drill them it will work, otherwise nope,i ended installing the complete turbo tail with the rubber, the a/c condensor can be reatached fairly easy ,my biggest concern was the looks since i have a narrow carrera but to me it looks fantastic.my 0.02.

Yes, Juan's right. The rubber parts of the Carrera and Turbo tails are not interchangeable - I recently tried it. The Carrera tail actually has 2 more bolts in the rubber, and the bolts are in different places. Even if you drilled new holes it wouldn't line up right. Eric H 87 Targa

So, aside from the mounting holes being in different places, the rubber itself is identical (exept for the lip of course)?

I don't think the rubber will match up even if you drilled new holes for the bolts, but I'm not 100% sure. Without drilling new holes it's impossible to put the rubber right against the tail and be sure. Realize there's also a ridge on the tail that fits into a groove in the rubber. It seems to me that might have been different, too.

I did actually take the rubber off of both tails and try to line it up, but when I realized how different the bolts were I gave up... Eric H 87 Targa

Seems to me that Juan and Seadweller are saying that the only difference in the rubber are the bolt patterns that bolt to the base. Seems to me that you could drill the mounting holes in the turbo tail base and bolt the carrera tail right on, filling in the bolt holes used for the turbo rubber.

Is the extra room you are searching for to clear a supercharger?
