Centre Channel Fuel Lines

I was wondering if the original hard plastic fuel line down the centre channel are prone to deterioration or failure over time and if they should be replaced for any particular reason?
Also are the return lines the same material with similar longevity (or lack thereof)

I would prefer to not put new lines through, if it isn't necessary, as I haven't found it terribly easy to find replacement lines and the less work I need to perform down the channel the better.

Thanks a lot!

Ian

I don't think the plastic deteriorates (it does harden though) but the metal parts of them sure do. Most times when they leak inside the tunnel it's because someone drilled/welded/cut into them. At least that's how it is for SC's, would assume the 74 tunnel sections are similar..

By metal parts, do you mean the clamps? or are there other metal parts holding it together inside the channel?
Is the hardening something to be concerned about, enough so to want to replace the lines?

The ends of both my hoses have fittings on them made of steel. Depending on how the car was driven they can get quite corroded. The sections in the tunnel are all plastic. If the ends look to be in good shape and there is no indication of anyone welding or drilling/screwing into the upper left side of the tunnel (from the shifter opening to the rear plate) I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
