windshield washer pump

I bought my 82 SC a few weeks ago. The windshield washer system was completely removed by a PO. My question is, does anyone know where the electrical connection for the pump is? There is a unused 2 pin connector right above the battery - is that it? I may install a universal kit or used OEM parts to restore the washer. Thanks

That should be it. It's a simple 2 wires with spade connectors. I just replaced my broken pump with a used OEM one. Of course, now I find that i have a leak in the tank

On the OEM pump, the outlet is the connector with the heavy ribbed flanged edge, the inlet is a smooth connection. On an aftermarket pump, it should be clearly labeled in English

I have a complete tank, pump, braket and clamp assembly (OEM) if you are interested.

The sc wiring diagram says washer pump connections are black and brown. The unused plug on fender above battery has wrong colors so that isn't it. Can anyone tell me where washer connector is or have photo? Thanks

I have photos at home I can post later if it takes you that long to figure it out.

It should be left side foward in the trunk, comming out of the harness very close to where the positive battery connection comes out. It should all be in that same section of harness IIRC.

If the system was removed the PO may have hid them up behind the fuse box or something like that.

Thanks Sailchef. Where you've described is a 2 pin connector (white/yellow stripe and brown). Per diagram that is for fog lights. Don't see anything else there so photo'd be greatly appreciated.

A section of harness runs along the inside of the trunk, it makes a turn when it get to the battery and goes across the front of the trunk to the other side. Just above where the washer pump would sit two wires should exit the harness

They are brown/black. They may have been cut by the PO.

Thanks much. Someone had cut off and taped over. I found the black wire and used a wiretap to tap into it. I now have working washer system on the 911 salvaged from a 82 supra rear washer ($8 on ebay) mounted in smuggler's box.

Here is the cheapskate washer system. It is a soft plastic reservoir w/ pump from an 82 toyota supra rear washer, $8 on ebay. Coincidentally its bracket lent itself to using a threaded hole that was already in the smuggler's box and the other end I used a zip tie. Maybe weighs a pound empty.
