Found out why my car was so loud!
My car's muffler looked ok from the bottom, but had two white heat marks directly behind the inlets which looked bad, so now that the car is away for the winter , I thought I'd remove it and sand it down and get out the BBQ paint. Well, upon removal I noticed that I could see pinholes in the exhaust where the one heat spot was. There also was no less than three other areas where the unit had been patched before. I could'nt understand why someone would fix fix fix these mufflers up until I looked at pricing new OE units!
Anyways, my unit will likely be replaced vs patched but I am still shocked at some of the dollar values of some of the P-car parts. My car was loud for a 911 I thought, but I wondered if that was partially to do with the SSI's on board. Now I can understand why I had some rumbling and popping on downshifts and such. A new unit (or sound used unit) should only make the car run better right? If anyone has an extra used but not used up muffler to fit my early car, please let me know! Merry Christmas everyone! Reg

Do you mean the OEstyle Ansa/Dansk units @249 each?
Are they SS? I only saw the GHL units for my car in the SS link. Maybe Wayne would explain why the Ansa and Dansk are grouped together. I hate to whine, but that 249 muffler will likely end up costing me around $580 CDN funds while the original unit @ 851 wouldbe be $1980 CDN! ![]() That is based on our low value dollar plus border fees etc.
