New Pads and Rotors, Brake light stays on...help
I did not replace the sensors and the old ones essentially crumbled upon removal. I just tied them up out of the way. I think I need to cut the wires and splice the leads together...please confirm.
Thanks

Never mind. Spliced wires, sealed with heatshrink-wrap and tied 'em up out of the way. No more light. Problem solved.
Thanks.

Don't cut anything. Just leave everything safely tucked out of the way. Use zip-ties to secure the cables, but make sure to put some tape over the sensor ends. If the the metal part of the sensor touches metal, your warning light might come on.
The same thing happened to me when I put in bigger brakes that did not have provisions for sensors. I unplugged the end portion of the sensor itself. After I re-installed the sensors, the problem went away. By the way, why don't you just replace the sensors? |
