I know very little about jetting carbs - Can I safely run stock Weber 40IDS carbs on a stock '83 euro 3.0 SC motor with SSIs and early style two in one out exhaust?
I believe the carbs are in standard form 130 mains 55 idles 32 chokes F3 emulsions as listed here Porsche 40IDA 3C Weber If not what jetting/chokes/emulsions would be suggested? If required where can I get parts from? Thanks Martin |

Those carbs could work fine with that engine. BA recommends in his book as a starting setup for a 3.OL:
34mm venturis F3 emulsion tubes 160 main jets 175 Air correction jets 60-65 idle jets (possibly bigger, TBD by driving test) Steve Weiner from Rennsport Systems in the post linked above says: "I'd start with 36mm venturis, 155 mains, 180 A/C's and 55 idles. F3 emulsion tubes are best..." I have no idea about Euro suppliers for Weber parts. YMMV, TT

Weber 40 on Euro 3.0 sounds good to me.
Some people use a more agressive cam with carbs. I'd definitally have the distributor re-curved to run without vacuum for better performance. Euro CR is 9.8 : 1, I think. With SSI's etc., it should roar. ![]()

Thanks Guys
How about US Weber parts suppliers? Who would you suggest? Jets are small enough for cheap shipping ![]() |
