final brake decision

I have read many posts and threads on what people suggest about brake conversions. I have a full set of 964 brake calipers and want to mount them to my 79SC.
1) Can anyone tell what diameter and thickness rotors I need to use for the front and rear
2) Can I mount these calipers using a TRE kit or do I need to have them machine like the VCI kit
3) what brake pads I should use

Bill Verburg is the real expert on this - and I will take a stab and then he can dance all over my answer with red pen...

I think the best way to do this (and certainly not the cheapest) is to go with a 930 rotor (298x28mm) Front and and an updated turbo/930 M/C Not sure of the rotor size on the rear. (Although I am thinking it would be cheaper to pick up a complete set of 930 gear...)

The VCI kit should work for the adapters (not sure what TRE is selling these days)

Pads - depends on what the upgrade is for race, track, auto-x, street...lots of options for that caliper

Again Bill is the expert here - I am sure he will chime in with hella more comprehensive info than I can at 1:36am (on my kid's second feeding)
