79 sc lifter noise
 

Hi, I'm very new to Porsches and would like to know how much lifter noise is normal. I know some ticking is normal but trying to get a feel for it. I've searched and searched on here and listened to several videos on youtube. I just can't seem to find that magic answer. I just checked the valves and they were spot on. The engine has about 40k miles on a rebuild.

you do know your car does not have lifters. best thing is to let someone else listen that knows the cars.

You know, you're right. I keep forgetting that it doesn't have lifters and I keep calling them lifters! I got it all dialed in now.
