73 gauges improper reading 2.7 sending unit?

Hi, has anyone experienced inaccurate or improper readings on the oil temp and pressure gauges of a 73 911 with a 75 2.7 engine? Are the sending units compatible to the gauges? thanks for any info, regards, romy

I've got a '76 gauge, numbers seem to be just fine with my '72E engine/sensors... they should be compatible, 65-89. I know some temp sensors have different ranges, perhaps someone else could chime in if they are different ohm readings? I've worked on several gauges where i've replaced the units from newer gauges, and I've seen sensors go bad too.

A quick check of the parts catalog shows the temp sender has the same part # for 69-73 and 74-76. The pressure sender has part #901-741-551-02-M100 for 65-73, and part #911-606-111-02-M100 for 74-77 (2.7 L) so it appears they are different though I don't know in what respect. Also, there are different numbers for senders associated with numbered gauges vs. non-numbered gauges. Maybe give a call to Pelican and explain your situation.
