KYB Shocks???

Anyone with experience with KYB shocks and inserts. Have an '80 SC completely stock. No track work envisioned and live in an area where they enforce 55 mph speed limit with a passion.

I know....cheap, but it has been an expensive tax year!!

Years ago, I installed KYB's on my sister 1983 320I... after a few months, my thoughts were- what a wast of time, I should have spent a few more $ for some thing better...Others might have better luck.

Someone put them in my '69 Coupe and I've had them on snowmobiles.......A wet noodle would do a better job.....I put Bilstein's on my 73.5 and luv them...

Just replaced the struts on my wife's Camry - I refused to go with KYB on that job too.

I've had them on my MR2 for about ten years and they are still working well! Rob

My brother and I used to put them on the back of our Cal Look VW's. Not in the frony though, they were too stiff. For a 911 try to go with Bilsteins.

I haven't tried them on 911s, but I've seen a number of KYBs on 914s blow out in just a few years. Not worth the money, considering the replacement cost.
Bilsteins last a really long time. You can probably find some good used ones for the same price as KYBs.

OK!!!! Bad idea....I promise never, ever to mention KYB shocks on this "esteemed" forum again! I will forgo a couple of nights out at the local pub and save up for Bilsteins.

Thanks to all for the candid opinions!
