Heater Backdate Problem - Advice needed

Howdy

I am in the middle of doing a heater backdate on my 3.2.

The problem I am having is that the new shroud piece (purchased from our host) doesn't seem to fit very well. I can somewhat align the holes, but it seems off by 1/4 inch or so, especially in the back. I don't see this making anywhere close to a tight fit...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Jack

well, since I had to massage it with a hammer for the disti to fit, I figured what the heck, lets form it. Never thought I would be taking a hammer to a porsche part.

Seems to work now...

I did exactly the same thing. It doesn't fit around the dizzy very well. But it wasn't anything a mallet couldn't fix.

Hammer is normal procedure on these.
