Correct gauge wire for Christmas present?
My father called me today and accidentally slipped out that he had bought a speedometer cable for me as a Christmas present. He might think that my car is a -71 since it has a registration papers dated to that date. Although my car really is a -72, so is there a difference in cables between these years?
Thanks. |

According to the Perf Pro catalog there is a $95 difference in the cables from 71 to 72.
Does your 72 have a 915 or a 901? If the early 915's used mechanical speedos then there is your difference.

I'm not sure of the difference in the cables, if any, but '72 was the first year of the 915 transmission. The '71 used the 901 transmission.
