Targa top won't stretch: NO SUN ! Alternative to dryer?

Weekend Project: Attempting to recover my Targa top using material from our host.

Following technical articles and posts found here, I decided to mount the side gutters first, so I have not applied glue to the front or rear yet.

Its quite cold here this weekend (as usual), so sun bathing is not helping to soften up the material.

I tried the dryer method, and the material does soften up and stretches easier but it cools off too quickly, with no time to perform the stretch required.

Problem is, I can get the front bead to line up nicely, but I can't get the material to stretch enough to line up the back bead on the corners; there is about 3/8" to go!

Seems I will need to remove the gutters and try again, maybe in August when it might be hotter!

Suggestions?

Id wait until its sunny and park the car with item laying out in direct sunlight for most of the afternoon. if it were over 85 that would help. Not sure how warm it gets up there.

Thanks, but the temp right now is 14 C

Perhaps I'll try a hair-dryer!

If you have a big cardboard box, turn it over on the top and the covering, and blow a hairdryer into it through a hole. Heat the entire thing.

Make a small exhaust hole on the other side of the box if needed.

Use a small electric space heater with a fan.

Heat lamp or a couple of Halogen worklights? They throw off alot of heat.
