Horn wire

I have a 75 911s the horn does not work i have an after market steering wheel.
If i push the relay in it works, if i jump the push button at the steering wheel it does not. Does the black wire from the wheel push button go directly to the horn relay or is there a rotary pressure type pad contact in the steering wheel column?

This is what it looks like

There is a brass ring under the steering wheel with a spring loaded contact. You will have to get the wheel off to check it out.

here is the ring on my 1973 911.

The horn wire hooks to the back of this ring.

Here is the contact in my MOMO steering wheel adapter. Your Porsche wheel will look similar.

The spring loaded plunger stays in contact with the brass ring. The metal split washer spacer above the big spring is no longer there. I am now using one of Mitch Leland's wonderful pre-lubed plastic rings that are availabe here on this site. I am fully sponsored by Mitch......and it is a great part nonetheless!! Models of all oler Porsche bushings.

ok that must be where my problem is. Can i pull it apart and clean it or rebend the spring metal?
Once and a while the horn does work but not much.
What size metric socket to pull wheel nut?
