This is a balancing act when installing new cable at pedal end of cable make sure you screw cable end on till it protudes a quarter inch or more all the way thru cable end so you can see it.make sure clevis pin area is not worn thru plastic bushing on cross shaft or clevis pin. Then go back to transmisson loosen 13mm jam nut (thin one) and back off 13mm bolt so there is clearence (quarter inch) then at cable with pedal all the way up loosen 2 15mm nuts. Turn rear 15mm nut till you can see linkage just start to move off of stop at coil spring pin where circlip goes thru spring . That is where there is no more play in cable from gear box to pedal. Now tighten front 15mm nut. Then turn in 13mm bolt till you can put a feeler gauge in bolt 1 mm then tighten thin 13mm jam nut that is the correct cable adjustment procedure .try that and tell me what happens. Regards tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your help. I am working with Brandon (pics21). He's under the car now :)

We've tried the adjustments, and as soon as we push the clutch in the spring snaps into a position where it is no longer useful and the pedal falls to the floor.

I'm at my wit's end. I have compared to my car and it seems like this spring, for some reason, is more sensitive or something just isn't aligned or adjusted right.

The weird thing is the spring seems plenty stiff, and is in the correct orientation, and was working before we changed out the cable.

Any other thoughts you may have would be appreciated.

Martin

That photo doesn't look right to me, but I'm not exactly sure why. I'll check my Bentley later at home.
