How old are Pelicanhead II (Poll Version)

Just wanted to make it easier to get a feel for the demographics...sorry if you have to post 2x...and sorry for stealing your post idea...just thought this would improve on it...just like I constantly need to improve on the mechanical wizardry of the little elves in Stuttgart...can you say MoNEY PIT

No 42-49 category. Is this a plot to limit SCWDP participation??

Hey, I have a question...

I'm in the 20-29 category, and oddly enough, I'm looking for an SC or early 911. What I'm wondering is, has anyone else my age been having a hard time shopping for cars like this? It seems every time I show up to look at a car, I get sized up as some kind of punk who doesn't know what he's getting into, and I'm brushed off. Obviously I'm not buying squat from anyone with that kind of attitude. What's up with that?

What if your age bracket doesn't match the description?

robh,
Some people are like that, some aren't. For instance:

DEALER: Hi, looking for a car? Got a really nice Civic, hot ride.

ME: No... not really into Japanese cars...

DEALER: Oh really? Most kids love these things. How about this Neon?

ME: I've kind of got my heart set on a Porsche, but I've been looking at BMW and Mercedes. Do you have anything like that?

DEALER: Um, no...

On the other hand, once I was checking out an Alfa 164 at a dealer and the salesman asked if I would be interested in the Testarossa in the showroom. I guess I should have asked to test drive it.

Now I get it.

The age grouping sure explains the answers to the favorite driving music question. I once had a 62 356 when they were still in production!

robh:

I looked at a couple 911s before I bought mine this past summer and was treated pretty well for someone who was "too young" to be buying a 911 and who didn't know enough about 911s at the time. Then again I was not looking at anything in the $10k+ category. Maybe if I had been looking at a C2 or something...

Hey, I don't mind the 41-49 bracket being called "41-42"!

Cheers!
