Comparing Stiffness of Underbody vs Through-body Sway bars

Can anyone tell me off hand how underbody and through-body sway bar sizes compare? I am trying to figure out how the stiffness of my 22mm late-Carrera underbody front sway bar compares to the 15/16/19/22mm etc through-body sway bars that are available, but I don't have any of the measurements necessary to make such a comparison.

Thanks,
Graham

Under-bodies are not as stiff as through-bodies due to the effective lever arm differences. Sorry I do not have measurements.

Under body are considered inferior for the reasons Flieger mentioned and why all aftermarket arms are thru the body. It isn't just stiffness, IIRC, but also the general geometry of the design.

I wouldn't think the underbody bars have a poor geometry.

It seems like the issue would be lack of adjustability. The underbody bars have no links for adjustablity.

Right?

Jerry

They bind without drop links. That is why they have a crude angled arm and a rubber bushing. Those are compliant enough to get by the binding. The factory continues using through-body sway bars for high performance models for a reason. :)
