What's this mystery part?
Not sure what this is? An amp or tuner? It was behind the passenger footwell board. Anyone buy these?
Thanks, Grahamhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1276562368.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1276562390.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1276562407.jpg |
Jusr translated the german wording on it to mean "receiver part" and I notice there's a spot to plug in the attenna...maybe this isnt an amp but a boosted receiver made by Blaupunkt. I assume this was stock to my 1980 SC but it wasnt connected to anything.

I'll have a go.
i think its a frequency extender. States side uses radio frequency beyond the range normally used by europe. Hence enables the Radio to capture the stations there?! |
Found a similiar unit on Ebay (Bamberg) but still not sure what it does??

Its a radio receiver to strenghten signals and as far as I know it would pick up CB radio as well. Here is a pic of the complete set up

We had this unit in several of our earlier 911's and one 930. The part you questioned, is the front end (tuner section), and a very good one. The small black box is the programing unit for the station presets. In it's time it was a great radio, however, the tape transport system was somewhat fragile, and in need of several repairs. Due to lack of parts, and "Bamburg" qualified techs, we finally gave up, bought some Blaupunkt Aspen radios which have never failed us. Our old Bamburg units, are in a landfill. Gerry |
