Cannister in left wheel well
Relatively new to the site - reading all the time and learning! My '77 911S has a cannister in the left wheel well right by the door with some large hoses - is this part of the air conditioner? the hoses go under the car to the rear but the previous owner took out the A/C. I do have a couple of large hoses in the engine compartment on the left side as well not attached to anything (tucked away). If this is part of the A/C how difficult would it be to remove the lines. Where do they go from the cannister to the interior - again is removal difficult?
Thanks! |

yes that is part of the ac, don't know how hard it is to remove but probably harder to put back if you want the ac in the future or if you plan on selling then the new owner may want it

It is the receiver drier, you don't want to reuse that part anyway. the hoses are held on to the bottom of the car with a bunch of clamps with a screw through each one, I think they are 8MM. the drier is easy to remove as well.

Assume that you're talking about the left FRONT wheel well.
Hoses went to the compresser and condenser in the engine compartment, and, to the condenser behind the front bumper (if you had one) and, to the evaporator in the smuggler's box in the trunk. Any of that stuff still there? |

Just the cannister in the front left wheel! You can see where the unit was in the engine compartment but I cannot see anything under the front bumper. I am probablu going to remove it (cannister)
