HID bi-xenon projector upgrade.
To go in an '88 Carrera special edition diamond blue.
Anyone recognize this headlight fixture/assembly and can tell me which year/model trim ring to buy...? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1276716471.jpg |

that is a 65-67 early 911/912 light housing. the reflector insert looks like a later H4. It appears that the projector is pressed into the H4 bulb holder.
This conversion will truly be a custom effort. beware of putting HID style bulbs into an H4 housing. The beam pattern will not be correct. Use the projector insert and you will be much happier with the results. |

Broke the front glass off the original H4 headlamp and installed the (Ebay) bi-xenon projector. It has its own reflector built in and a solenoid operated apperture/shading system to provide a SHARP upper beam cutoff line in low beam mode. |
What projector did you use? what bulb/light ballast did you use? I have the parts to do the same conversion.
Let me get this straight. You took an early light housing with the non-fluted external lens. Then you took a standard H4 insert and removed the fluted lens leaving only the reflector and bulb holder. Then you mounted the new projector and HID bulb in place. This would allow for use of the adjustment screws and provide a good beam pattern. More details please. What projector did you use? application make/model. Is this one of the generic HID projector kits? Is this an H4 HID "upgrade" bulb setup inside the projector lens? |
There was someone on here that did something similar using projectors from an Audi. For the life of me, I can't seem to find it. I believe he had a green 911, if that helps others...
