Question OE Boge rebuild and revalve?

Does anybody know why the rebuild and revalve options do not seem to be available for Boge shocks? If it can be done for Bilsteins why not for Boges?

Because Boge doesn't choose to do so.

I presume this is for your '85?

You put Bilstein inserts in the BOGE housings for the front struts. Bilstein can valve those any way you want. You replace the rear dampers (shocks) with Bilstein and Bilstein can valve those any way you want. The BOGEs in back are likely shot anyway.

An expert around here on taking care of valving is Steve Weiner at Rennsport Systems...dealing with Bilstein directly isn't always the best, but running through Steve or the like is.

Yeah, I'll probably end up going the Bilstein conversion route. I was hoping to save some $ and reuse my Boge Sports though.

Know this is an old thread, but just to verify, Bilstein struts are thus a direct fit into Boge housings, just right-side up instead of upside down like in the Bilstein housings?

No Bilstein makes an insert that will fit in a Boge housing. It is not the same as the insert they make for their own housing.
