Door vent window on a SC

I have a set of venting rear quarter windows I will install this winter. I would also like to swap over my door windows to have the opening vent window. I am removing the ac in the car and think the additional wind flow will help in the summer heat. For a short answer will a set of door window frames with vent windows from an earlier year fit my car. It is a 79 SC coupe.

Thanks - Terry

Same question, same car. (80 SC)
Flipping through some parts diagrams, it looks like the SC Targas had them?
Searched the forums and saw more people having issues getting the frames adjusted properly with the vent windows and seals. Is it worth it? Can you change over without modding or beating up the original window frames?

targas have a different shape on the that window. Not interchangeble with coupes

you would have to source an early coupe window frame from a 65-68, test fit, make appropriate mods, then disassemble and powder coat. And of course buy a new seal from our host, so it does not leak

As TRE Cup noted, Targa frames will not fit coupes. In addition, the frames with operating vent windows are not all the same. Early frames, from 65-67, were chrome plated brass. The one-year-only polished aluminum frame was on the 68. If you want to match your current frames on the 80 SC, the the 68 is the only choice. If your frames are powder coated, however, only you will know, and it won't matter which year frames you use.
