Correct Gap
What is the correct spark plug gap for a 2.2 with carburetors and an MSD?

MSD says to gap to .050" to .060" for engines up to 10.5:1 compression ratio.
.040" to .050" for engines 10.5:1 to 13.0 comp. ratio. They also say to use changes of .005" until you get the best results. So I would gap to .050" and if the engine pulls to redline without misfire then leave it. If it doesn't ...reduce the gap until it performs correctly. |

Hi Gary,
"RSScotty" is a VERY sharp fellow with decades of experience (I know him quite well) but if it were me, I'd gap them at .045 and be done with it,... ![]() Make sure your cap, rotor, and plug wires/connectors are all in perfect shape, otherwise that MSD will "find" all the deficiencies,... ![]()
