Option Code question - Not what you think!
Given I'm the guy who built the first and best online Porsche Option Code decoder (Porsche Option Decoder) you'd think I wouldn't be asking option code questions. But then you'd be wrong.
I was reviewing the options on my car today (using my trusty decoder!) and realized something I never noticed before: Two of the most prominent options my car had from the factory are not represented:
I had it in my head that these were options (e.g. the sunroof & 16" Fuchs were standard). Can someone with an '87-'89 Carrera WITH a sunroof and WITH 16" Fuchs please verify that YOUR option code sticker includes:
If you don't have 393 listed, what option DO you have listed for wheels? Thanks! |
I haven't paid much attention to option code stickers; where would I find it? Mine is an '88 with sunroof, but came with 6&7X16s.

'88 Carrera Cab, so I can't help with the sunroof:cool: But the wheels were 6&7x16 Fuchs, with option code 395 (Light metal wheels-forged).
I would expect the option code 393 (Forged wheel 8J/9Jx16) would be for a wide bodied car (Turbo & Turbo-look). But I guess one could get it on a standard body also. Wavey - option code sticker would be in the car's Warranty & Maintenance book and on the underside of the hood. Charlie - I sent you an email with a PDF list of option codes you might useful. |
