Help with Sunroof Please

Howdy Y'all.

I'm putting the sunroof back together today and I have a minor problem.

I have two new strips of felt and I don't know where they go. I took this apart 3 years ago so, as you might imagine, my memory is a little fuzzy.

Can somebody post pics for me? I need to see the where the felt is installed on the body and how far back it goes.

I also need a shot of the sunroof where the felt is installed and where that stops, too.

Thanks in advance.

Hal

I did this a few years back, if I recall (and I'll check in just a moment) your short strip will go along body side of the front so the sunroof will close up on it, then the long strip arount the back and both sides of the sunroof panel.

The bead will of course point upward with the flats adhered to the edges of the panel and the edge of the body side on the front.

I reply back in just one moment with a solid yea or nay, but I can't give pics right now.

STRIKE THAT. . . here's our hosts diagram of that:

Looks like I was bass ackwards. . the short will go along the rear of the sunroof panel, and the long will go along the front and sides of the body.

Part #'s 16 for the front piece and 48 for the rear

Yup. . .just confirmed, short along the back of the sunroof panel, center it and wrap the excess around the curve towards the front enough to where it meets the long one that adheres to the front and sides of the opening on the body.

I installed mine with the bead just an RCH above the roofline. . . but then what I took off was so rotted I didn't have much to go on.

Do yourself a favor and make sure all four drain tubes are clear before you put the sunroof and tracks back in. One of the rears on mine was clogged and I ended up taking (a much needed probably) shower one day.

Edited to add. . .

Also. . .part # 49 is shown as 901 564 905 05 and listed as the 'sealing rubber'. I don't recall pulling this off of mine and therefore never replaced it. I'm not sure on where that would go or how.

Thanks. That's the same picture from the Haynes...

I don't remember pulling the sealing rubber off mine either. Hmmm.
