Removing the wiring 1970 targa ??
I have the wiring removed as far as the shift coupling cover and hanging over the targa bar. It looks like I need to cut the turn, brake light connectors off to slide them thou the inner tunnel that goes up front. By taking the fourteen pin connector apart it looks like those wires will go. I thought about pulling the starter to battery wire out first but it looks like that was installed first from the factory. I removed the white plastic guides from the turn, brake connectors to get to this point. The connectors must have been made after the wiring install as I see it. Also has anyone used a bike tire inner tube to replace the cover over the wires from the tunnel output flange thou the engine compartment. It seems a lot of folks don't replace this. TIA

I think you are doing it backwards. Look up front. I believe you will see that the harness that runs in the tunnel has loose ends up front. Disconnect these and pull the harness out toward the rear. Be sure to mark or write down where the wires connect.
The inner tube is a good idea. I may try that. |

That's right, I did the samething with my 72...disconnect front pull thru the rear... tag and mark your wires. reinstall in reverse..
I replaced elect tape with nylon wire braided sleeve.. makes a good snake pull as well.. then cut off excess. sed shrink sleeves, three sizes to make one heavy duty sleeve. Same for battery cable but added gromet thru FW.

I used an inner tube. I turned it inside out to get rid of the printing and pattern that was on it. I am a tad bit concerned about its heat resistance.
