The Saga Continues: SC upgrades haha
well for those of you ready to vomit cuz of another SC upgrade thread...leave now!!!
so I have been continuously planning for my upgrade so this is what I plan... when I tear the engine down...I HOPE the P&Cs are in good cond then I will reuse...I have been sourcing 3.2L cranks...$1500 I know this make the car very similar to the 3.2L carreras...without the computer control FI.... so what besides a crank is needed... The second part of this upgrade I am thinking is when CA laws exempt my car (5-10years) from smog checks, I wanted to upgrade the FI to MFI or Carbs and do a quick top end rebuild and switch out the P&C (ot just P's) to ones with deeper packets for hotter cams...maybe even put 98mm 3.2 P&Cs to make 3.4L and of course new cams One question is can I run P&C's with deep pockets on the CIS FI...with the CIS cams...in anticipation of switching to MFI/Carbs and hotter cams? Just thinking this would simplify the end result of 3.4L but having to deal with CIS in the middle... I have decided to abandon high compression and 2x plugging...seems too much of a hassle and $$$$ for the results provided...now if you want to convince me that these are good and cost effective be my guest... I just want to get as much information as possible before cracking it open so there are no regrets.... |
