fuel relay rapid clicking

I had an issue today that lef me stranded in my 77 turbo I just replaced the fuel accumulator because I had hot start problems. Took the car to lunch today, and ended up having the car towed home after 2.5 hours

one of the problems that persisted was the rapid clicking of the fuel relays. An y thought on what would cause this? It smelled like it was getting fuel. It cranked but never caught. The one thing that I kept hearing was the rapid clicking of the fuel relays. It seemed that as the engine cooled, the clicking reduced significantly.

Could this be the CDI unit. It is the original one with car. Really appreciate any help on this.

Try replacing the fuel pump relay with a known good one(horn?).

While it could be the CDI, I'd start with the relay. The rapid clicking is not normal, IMO.

How good is your battery?

I did replace the fuel pump relay in the back and one of them in the front when I had a problem with the fuel pumps starting. The issue was the fuse was loose, and tightening the lower fuse retainer.

The rapis click doesn't sound right to me either. Not sue what would cause it. The clicking reduces completely once the engine has cooled.

Not sure on the condition of the battery. Something I can check.

Sorry about the poor spelling on the reply. Tough to proof read on a Blackberry.

One thing that I also noticed, was that the CDI unit was very warm about 1-1.5 hours later after I finished lunch and tried to drive home.
