ebay seller warning!

A ebay seller by the name of
robin krist
aka peter soukup
aka goldminewest@yahoo.com

sold me this item

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=598860142&ed=1008192262

it was supposed to be 930 calipers and by the title and the part numbers he gave, it confirmed as 930 rear calipers...

now in my excitement of finally finding pair, I should have been moe careful as they are clearly brembo from a 964 or a 944 turbo (right Bill Verburg??)

Well anyways. I meet him and he tells me he is an ex-racing mechanic for Vasek Polak...which I think is so cool...

but when we opend he package and to my dismay they are not the finned 930 brakes...he tells me there were never finned brakes on regular production cars...and these are 930 brakes no question....he says in 25 years of working at Vasek Polak he has never seen finned brakes...

So I did not pay him...I even offered him to tack on $50 to the final price so I could go home and check on the internet...because with his expertise I wanted to trust him...but he stormed off and does not respond to my emails...especially after I cut and pasted the links to the threads I started about this brake upgrade

So just a warning...for me too...to be more wary...he is selling off some of VP's old stock so there may be some tantalizing items...

he does have cool stuff like a carrera 4 cam factory manual...
but just becareful...check his feedback...it is mostly good, but there are a couple burned customers like me...

I just hope he is not using the vasek polak name to help sell some of his items...

alas...my search begins again for cheap 930 brakes...

I don't get the problem. He had a picture of the brakes, and the part no.s, posted with the auction. We're they not as pictured? Did they have a different part no. then what he posted? How did he misrepresent what he was selling?

well his parts numbers were for 930 brakes
the picture was of 944 turbo brembo brakes...

If I looked at the picture more carefully I would have known there was a discrepency...

My main gripe is that when I confronted him with this discrepency in person...he, the master mechanic insisted that it was a true 930 brake which it wasn't...he was using his "experience" to tell me I was wrong and that this was the brakes I was looking for....

and he still won't admit he posted the wrong number
and he won't admit that these are not 903 brakes

I offered to cover his posting fee for ebay but he refused and stormed off....

like I said he has good ratings, but there are a couple suspicious ones in there too...me being one of them...

Don't question yourself. You did a great job exposing the seller to be a fraud and unprofessional. You should pat yourself on the back for sticking to your guns.

When you inspected the brakes, what were the part numbers on the calipers? Where they different then the part #s he posted? Because the numbers he posted are correct for 930 and turbo-look brakes for 1978 to 1989. If they were different #s, you should contact Ebay, and report this as fraud. If they were the same numbers as he posted, then I still don't see your side of it.

"If I looked at the picture more carefully I would have known there was a discrepency... " Sounds like you're blaming him for your mistake.
