Starter Issues 1982 911 SC, been to mechanic twice, replaced 2 starters and added a relay saying all was good. Got stranded at lunch the other day, not happy. Seems to come and go as when you go to start it it makes a light "buzzing' coming from the rear, almost as if the plunger is not engaging. Any clues of where to start or has anyone gone thru this ??? Thanks |

Its evident youre not getting a good replacement starter. Get a Bosch rebuild for best result or I ve been very impressed with the high torque starter sold by our host, its new and no trade in necessary, so there is no extra expense in shipping. Bruce |

I would go with the high torque starter, I believe it will end your hot start problems. I've talked to some knowledgeable people who say that the Bosch unit is not that great. BTW, I have the same issue...and I have a hi torque on order as we speak. Just my .02 cents. |
