Valet left my ignition/fuel pump on for over an hour

...and I don't know the repercussions.

It was completely locked up when I got to it (they thought the battery was dead). After a while, the engine turned over, and once I kept my foot on the gas for a while (while turning it over) it finally fired.

I'd had a small CIS leak that I could hear (kind of a whistling sound) which is VERY exacerbated now. Anything I need to look for in terms of major damage?

Motor is a 82 Euro SC in a 69 Chassis, with CIS.

Some major irregularities are in your set up, though I don't know which are due to being ROW, or modified CIS.

First, your pump shouldn't run with just the ignition on, so either your fuel pump relay is faulty, or you don't have a relay in your 69.

Second, even if the pump is running, if shouldn't be pumping fuel into the cylinders. That is a fault with the plunger setting on its stop (which could also cause the pump to run.)

Regardless of the cause, you probably experienced hyrdolock. If you were lucky, you didn't bend any valve stems when you tried to turn the engine over. Since you got the engine to run, you will need to find the source of the sound you mentioned, and do an oil change to get rid of the gasoline thinned oil you now have.

The good news is, I don't think the problem is as bad as it could have been. If the pump had been running for an hour, and the plunger was allowing fuel to spray, you would have had a crankcase full of fuel and most likely it would have been leaking out of the case or, at least, the smell would be reeking. Further, as you cranked the engine, raw fuel would be forced out the exhaust pipe/muffler. You didn't mention theses things and if they had occurred, I think that would have been first on your list. It doesn't sound like it was that extreme. However, one leaking injector that should be completely off (plunger properly seated) could cause the situation. End result is the same--change the oil, find out why the pump was running with the ignition "on", check the operation of your injectors and plunger, and find the source of the strange sound.

Great looking 911...still amazed you let a valet drive it.....more than bad advice from a friend I'd put a hit out on him after that suggestion.

Watch the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The valets have an absolute field day.

I've seen the result of 'valet fun' in Las Vegas when a valet racing a friends smallmouth TR3 drove it into a concrete divider playing 'smoke the tires'....
Casino picked up the tab but it's never actually the same car.

That's heartbreaking. Another reason I never let a valet near my cars or truck. I had a prosecutor's conference at the King Edward in Jackson a few years back and I made the valet get in the truck with me and I personally parked my truck. I told him I had evidence I was delivering to the state crime lab in the afternoon and that if he drove the truck alone then I would have to call him to testify in a murder case since he could theoretically tamper with evidence. He gladly rode with me.

I like that....the 'no break in custody' theme....if they won't let me park my own car I'll go elsewhere.
It's not about the tip, I'll tip them to let me park it.

I usually pay the minimum wage dude in the red vest a 20 spot just to allow me to put my $100k turbo in his lot. Even offer him another 20 if he lets me put it next to his booth and watch it occasionally. Steve McQueen style.

Back to the question. Early car, the fuel pump was unfused and had no relay so pump runs as soon as the key is on. The fuel pump and intake system in general should not be harmed by this. It will drain the battery, but it will not hurt the fuel pump as long as it does not run dry.
You could rewire it so that the interlock of the SC air flow plate controls the pump. The leaky injector is the only area that will cause any harm. You already know that the leaking, whistling injector needs to be replaced. It seems to have filled the cylinder with gas , but from your description you were able to get the engine running. You did not mention any problems with the way the engine runs, so there probably is no damage to the piston or valves. You most likely will have some contamination of the oil with the gasoline though. An oil change and replacement of any leaky injectors should take care of it. Do one other check though, make sure of the origin of the whistle. Is it the injector alone, or is part of the noise from the CDI. The CDI box will normally have a high pitched noise when it is working.
