I was catching up on my AUTOWEEK reading this weekend and saw an article in the 12/17/01 edition which states that the new Carrera GT is a GO!
Sorry if this has already been posted but in case I'm not the last one to learn of this here are some specifics (as reported): -mid mounted 5.5 liter V10 -peak revs around 8200 -exceeds 558hp and 450 lb/ft -6 speed gearbox -60mph in under 4 seconds -top speed in excess of 200mph -available in Europe in late 2003 -cost > $500k Is it too late to add this to my list for Santa? Happy holidays to all! Doug '81 SC Coupe |

Fat chance, Paul...unless they do want >$500K straight from the factory. I think I read somewhere that only after the first 2000 or so will Porsche break even, so the chances of a discount will probably be unlikely. Let me know if they do, though. I might order an extra one.

What if...
What if we get 500 of us to chip in a $1,000 a piece. We could drive it from one owner to the next and fly home. I'm in. I need 499 more of you guys, what do ya say?
Sorry Ruf, this deal is for continental US owners and Canadians only. Bobby |

Aww...crap. So much for my share in the plan for the Carrera GT.
So...whos garage would it sit in? Or will it just from one owner to the next, nonstop?

Should only take about 50 yrs to depreciate to SC prices. Oh well, I'll just have to wait.

Bobboloo - great idea!!
I would consider except for one minor detail. . . let's assume each one of the 500 contributors kept the car for just 7 days - it would take over 9-1/2 years to circulate to everyone! Still, very impressive car
