Front AC condensor Fan
 

Does anyone have the fan assy for sale from the front AC condensor from an SC. My motor is stuffed these are available new from Pelican but not the fan part. The fan is so stuck on the motor shaft that I bent it trying to get it off.

Not being smart but you might try cruising the classifieds here. That might turn up something. good luck

If you were unsuccessful at removing the fan by removing the allen head screw, and bent the motor shaft, you may need a replacement assy.

As mentioned by steely, there are some for sale on the classified.

And, if not already fused, put in a 10A before you have a toasty warm fire in your luggage compartment.

You may also want to fuse:

1. Dash lights (3A)
2. Evaporator relay (10A)-(Purchase from Pelican)
3. Footwell blower motors (10A)

I had to drill out the allen screw and liberally and repeatedly dose w/PBlaster.
provived the fan isn't meesed up

Ditto. Also may save u some by sourcing a similar motor not necessarily Porsche related.
I replaced mine with a more current generic motor.
Denso motor or Japanese once have even higher speeds I remember, compare to original

Are you talking about the one in the smugglers compartment or in front of the gas tank. I have a complete working unit from the smugglers compartment if you need it.

The fan I need is the one in front of the space saver tyre that passes air over the small front mounted condensor.
Our RHD cars dont have a smugglers box the larger fan/evap unit sits in behind the wood kick panel on the passenger side of the vehicle.
I tried heat, soaking the assy in penetrant and it wont budge ,the allen screw came ou ok. The effort I used has now bent the fan so it needs replacing.Even now the fan boss wont move !!! The motro is easy to get from pelican as mine is kaput its the fan part..I looked in the classifieds but missed one will keep looking as I know some guys gut the AC units. Here I need one and Iam installing the Griffiths set up in my car its warm here the heater is what I dont use much.

Gerry I have fused the blower motor and dash lights, my model does not have footwell blowers its an 81 thanks though I only just did this. You mention a 10A relay for the evap blower do you mean fuse I have not seen a 10A relay only 30A
Is there a diag for the relay ?

Pelican sells an evaporator relay with a built in 10A fuse which plugs into the side of the relay.

Gerry the dash light fuse is done pretty easy in line 3 A blade fuse.
I have some Hella relays that have 30 A blade fuses plugged intothem I would think a 10A could be exchanged for the 30A and use it.

That will work only if you are holding a Crown Lager during the fuse replacement.
