101 projects book- how many copies?

How many copies of 101 projects do you now have? Thanks to Christmas I am up to 4 copies. One I bought myself when they first came out A second was a gift from a friend that I had taught how to bleed the brakes on his 911 and now 2 more copies for Christmas- thanks to relatives and Amazon.com.
Great book- now maybe at least one copy will stay clean, unfortunately my signed copy is NOT the clean one.
Happy Holidays

Just one copy... but it is signed ;)

Everyone should have two copies - one for the bookshelf in the office, and one for the garage. Kindof like the way most people have more than on Haynes manual...

:)

Just one. Santa brought it. It is fantastic Wayne! Even better than anticipated. The clear color photos really set it off from other 'how to' manuals.

The engine rebuilding book is going to be of the same flavor and caliper...

Wayne, remember 2 Christmases ago when my wife called you and you conveniently recommended that she get me the 914 restoration book? (co-authored by Wayne) Well, unfortunately this year she took the initiative and got me the 101 book but from Amazon!!! Whoops! I'll buy some gear to make up for it. Next year she'll get everything from pp. Do you have gift certificates?

Wayne - got mine(?) for my dad for Christmas and I am very impressed. Excellent photography and really clear and concise text. Full marks.

2 copies. 1 I bought a few weeks ago, for the garage. And my brother bought me the other, along with the Bentley manual, for Christmas.

Really great book Wayne!:)

Man, you guys are saying how great that book is, I was starting to think I better get one before they go out of production...and I don't even have a 911.

BOOK

Only have one but it is signed...Thanks Wayne

You know the book is really good when your competitor starts advertising/selling it (Performance Products ad in latest Excellence). No mention of author though...wonder why? Great book Wayne. ;)

Olivier 3.0 12-25-2001 11:30 PM

got five copies :) ! All are signed... Four were for my 911 friends, and only one for me. It's really great, even if you could easily go to "151 projects" :D !

But I have to say that it's not cheap to order it on Pelican, because of the overseas shipping cost (keep cool, Wayne, the book worths twice its price ;) !). For European folks, it's cheaper to order it from amazon.com (for my example, it costs 315 Francs (48 €uros) from PP, and only 239 Francs (36.5 €) from Amazon, both with shipping charges), but it's not signed...

Anyway, if there will be a pre-subscription for the engine rebuilding book, I'm in :D !

Wayne, a subsidiary question: how many copies of your book did you sell at this time?

cegerer 12-26-2001 05:25 AM

Well, I read about 5 or 6 chapters last night and suddenly had an urge to go to the garage and begin doing something - anything! - to my 911! What a well-written book.

Wayne 962 12-26-2001 10:13 AM

Those sneaky bastards, I have a bet with Richard at Performance that we'll sell more copies than them...

Total copies sold are around 4500-5000, Pelican has sold about 700 of those...

If this help I just order my copy 701

And ya know Wayne the plot is so subtle you can't even read the last few pages and figure out who dun it! Definitely wasn't the butler. :D

Wayne 962 12-27-2001 04:42 AM

Yikes, don't give away the ending! It definitely wasn't a spun bearing that killed the motor...

Hey Wayne,
Are you still shipping signed copies on Pelican orders?
I gave my [signed] copy away over Christmas to an Australian houseguest who really needed it. Need to replace it ASAP.
Thanx,
