Odo/Speedo Question
A quick search seems to suggest that when the odometer in an SC speedometer quits working, it's the famed plastic gear that's causing the problem.
Is this indeed bulletproof, or can there be other reasons for this? I'm told that if the speedometer works but the odometer doesn't, there can't be anything wrong with the sending unit or its connections. True fact? Thanks in advance. |

Search will help you out. Thrasher posted a great step-by-step fix. The only risk is bending/breaking the needle shaft, and distorting the ring that holds the assy together. I did a risk/reward and took mine to Paul's Speedometer in Redondo Beach. $115 including the gear and calibration. Good luck, Gerry |
