1988 911 turn signal issue

Out of nowhere both my left and right turn signals quit working. I checked the fuses on the main buss. It appears from the manual two fuses work the signals, and they both appear fine. Any suggestions???? Help!!!!!!

Probably the stalk/switch. Are your headlights exhibiting odd bahavior like only operating on high beam or functioning when you hold the switch in a specific position?
If so, the contacts in the switch may have gone out.

Or the turn signal relay died. It's located behind the speedometer and is accessible from the trunk.

No, lights are fine. High beams are fine. Brake lights, parking lights all good. Just no turn signals at all. Thanks for any help

Check the turn-signal relay... (!)

(as noted by porschenut, it's located behind the speedometer -you can access it from within the bonnet)

What exactly does it look like?? Is it inline?? Not sure what I'm looking at???
Thanks again

It's #4 in this picture, which you can't really see. It's a small black cube right next to the bank of 3 bigger cubes. You'll recognize it if you look in there with a flashlight. Just pull it out of the socket and pop a new one in.

By the way, since the emergency flashers use the same relay, you can test the relay by hitting the emergency flasher button. If the flashers don't work, the relay is toast for sure.

Another (easy) way to get to the relay in question is by pulling out the fuel gauge...
(also, try wiggling / cleaning the terminals to see if it helps)
